Review of Word Monaco

Word monacoIf you took a game like Boggle and mixed it with solitaire, you would end up with Word Monaco, a challenging and entertaining new game from Smart Box Design.

Playing the game was easy to figure out, even without consulting the directions. I played through and lost a couple of hand, after which I had a good handle on how it works.

The game starts out like solitaire. A deck of cards is dealt, but instead of red and black suits, the card faces have letters. The player then drags and drops the face-up cards to build words and to uncover the face-down cards. You win by uncovering all the cards and using all the letters to build words.

There are three game variations each with three difficulty levels, which provides a variety of challenge for the player. You can stretch your vocabulary to its full extent. Word Monaco would make a great vocabulary-building tool, disguising learning as fun.

Wordmonaco_160_station_1Smart Box Design makes a number of “brain” games, including two word games, Word Watch and WordPop. Word Monaco is a great addition to their lineup.
