Do you remember Talking Moose - who was living in old Macintosh? Yes, Finally he is back to Palm Device. This Moose is the first palm application that uses flite - speech synthesis engine from CMU. You can invite Moose in your small Palm Device and sometimes he talks in English. He is very greedy moose . You need to make a large memory space and Palm OS 5.X (Garnet) Device with Sound Stream Feature Set.
Usage

Moose likes a large free space. Prepare more than 6 MB free memory area before install Moose. Do not use MSMount for Moose. He dislike faked memory. And more than 2 MB dynamic heap is required on your device. Install 5 PRC files - Moose.prc, flite.prc, cmu_us_kal16.prc, cmulex.prc, and usenglish.prc on your device through HotSync. If you fail to install one of them, Moose refuse to communicate with you. After install PRC files, you can find a hundsome moose face on the launcher screen.

There are tree way to play with moose. One is typing free text and make Moose talking with “Talk” button. Second is making a speech out of Moose application. When check the box of “Enable Command Bar menu” in the preference, you can find a moose face in the command bar menu. You need to select text in the field or put a text in the clipboard. Last one is that the moose makes a random speech in the background. Check the box of “Background Speech” in the preference, moose periodically try to communicate with you. Do not check “0″ for “Idle Delay”. Because it is too noisy. “Idle Delay” number means a minutes for period. When you turn off the device, Moose go to bed and do not disturb you.
